IELTS 8.0

This was my first time taking an IELTS test. I was planning to be an exchange student. Since I haven't used English for quite a long time, I decided to find a tutor to improve writing and speaking skills. The moment I met Soheila I knew she was the one that would be helpful.
She had a really clear plan for each student with strong teaching structures. She explained everything patiently and came to my aid whenever I encountered a problem. She showed extremely useful writing structures and strategies, thus I could come up with good ideas and organize my sentences methodically in a short time when seeing a writing topic. I think good structure was mainly the reason why I got 7 in writing at the end.
As for speaking, we did a lot of practices on various topics. When it came to the real test, I felt like I was speaking to Soheila just like we did every week. As a result, I didn't feel stressful and could speak fluently. Though I think I could do better in speaking, 7.5 was good enough(since my initial goal was to get 6.5 overall😂 ).
A good teacher can help you improve dramatically, but hard work also matters. Since I am still a student, I had a whole summer vacation to prepare for the IELTS. I made a well-organized studying plan for myself at the beginning of the summer. I took two classes a week and also did a lot of mock tests(Cambridge IELTS 9-16). Because I have habits of listening to ABCNews(Australia) and reading English novels every day, reading and listening were not big deals for me. So I put all my efforts in writing and speaking.
All in all, hard work will eventually pay off. And I do really recommend to take Soheila's classes if you need a tutor!
