Hi! I am Melis Amber. I was born and raised in the USA, mostly in California, so I have that "Hollywood" accent. I have seven dogs (!). I love languages, writing, kickboxing, painting, hiking, and television. Me as a teacher: I am extremely patient and encouraging. As a former journalist, I love to talk about whatever interests you! If you have something you want to talk about, please let me know; otherwise, I have many subjects to bring to our classes. I also specialize in writing and essay preparation as well as pronunciation and articulation. I can assist you at any level of your language learning. I speak Turkish at a C1 level and Spanish at a B2 level, but please note that to gain as much as possible from our time together, I prefer that I speak only English during our lesson. :-) I can't wait to meet you! I am a very calm and motivating teacher. In both grammar and conversation classes, we will either discuss a topic (crime, for example) or read a short article and discuss it. The grammar class just focuses a bit more on grammar, with explanations and homework, if you like. Please note that writing and pronunciation classes are for students of at least intermediate level. I prefer to speak English in class, but if you need to say something in your native language, go ahead! That's fine! I'm here to help you. Actually, I think my role as your teacher is more of a guide and a cheerleader, rather than just a teacher. I say, 30% is me, 70% is you!
