It is important that you do it beforehand. Though we could go over it in class, it would be a waste of your money and both of our time. . . For the first class, we could write an essay together, just to get your feet wet. . . Once you become familiarized with the writing process, you will write an essay or two every week on the topics we agreed on, and we will take it up in class. This was how I learned to write academically and, trust me, there is no better way. . . ======== . . As far as speaking goes, gloves are off. (j/k) . . Yet it is true that speaking involves exchanges - in the same way boxers exchange punches in the ring. I will engage you, and you will engage me. . . I will challenge you with questions that put you out of your comfort zone and provoke your thoughts in ways you have never imagined, and I will MAKE YOU keep up with me. . . Don't feel intimidated. Striking up and maintaining a conversation can be difficult, but fortunately it is an art form that can be mastered through practice. . . . . . . Okay okay...if you had to know a bit of my background, I spent half of my life abroad, worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and was published in the newspapers (oh the good old days). . . Now I am giving back to society by creating free videos on YouTube while teaching at brick-and-mortar cram schools to put food on the table. Gig economy at its best. . . .
